Why Walk?

CODY Walk Group photoThe Cody Center is a unique, multidisciplinary center of excellence that provides a broad range of services and community programs for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related developmental disabilities.

The most common of the developmental disabilities is Autism, which may now be diagnosed in as many as 1 in 150 children. For reasons still not fully understood, boys are four times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with Autism.

Although the number of children diagnosed with autism has increased over the past decade, the world-class scientists who collaborate in the Cody Center Research Consortium have made significant advances that promise to help explain the causes of Autism Spectrum Disorders and may lead to critical and much-needed improvements in treatment.

Funds raised from this year’s walk will support community service and research.
